warhammer combat cards : 40k

Boring to play, match gameplay is stale but the updates to cards are slowly (painfully slowly) making match gameplay more enjoyable. If they could double the card pool, make it accessible, and increase deck size to include more than 8 cards then this game could actually be a heavy hitter. Unfortunately games workshop's disgusting meddling fingers are all over this games playability, and no I'm not a 40k fan or games workshop cynic, I'm observing what I can of this IP and its commercial history.

The game is... mediocre, at worst, somewhat engaging at best. I have no particular gripes with his game, but there does appear to be a glaring disparity between those who pay and those who do not. Stick to casual mode if you want somewhat consistently fair match ups.

Only alright. Campaign mode is not that great. You take 2 steps forward, 5 steps back. Big time pay to play game. If you face a cheese deck, it's most likely because the player spent a ton of money to get those cards. If your playing for fun, play casual mode. Otherwise, don't waste too much money on this.

On two occasions now, I've spent money on card packs and found myself having an easier time afterwards in battles. Being better matched against more fair opponents and finding my winning percentage increasing for a short time. I've only ever made two purchases in this game, both Tau related and both times this has happened. I'd chalk it up to coincidence but I haven't had many fair match ups since I spent money the last time. Often capped around Arena 4. Opponents deck ranked 200+ over mine.

Great game but sometimes bugs out. I have run into some unknown errors and then my wins don't count. It's very addictive though but a bit pay to continue. As it has a lot of 'chests' that you have to wait to unlock.

I have re-downloaded this game after the last update and it's much improved. The animations are crisp, the combat is fast and responsive, and the strategies are fun and engaging. I have had a good time losing to unique decks and strategies as much as I have had winning with them. Daily rewards and chests (free card packs) are pretty easy to get too, and make logging in rewarding, rather than a daily chore like other games. A great game with responsive staff working on it.

Really wanted to like it but there's something dodgy going on with this game, often during ranked matches you wont gain the trophies you just won from a fight, as if that wasn't bad enough I just lost trophies for winning a fight, the ranking system makes no sense at all other than to be frustrating enough to make you spend money, fun while it lasted but went the way of most mobile games, I'm giving it two stars for the aesthetic.

The game is usually solid, albeit a bit pay to win, but an update that they employed 4 days ago had completely broken the game and made it unplayable for me. Even more frustrating is that it happened the day after I finally ended up putting money into the game. Due to the brokenness of the game at the moment I am missing out on free resources that are currently offered for a limited time only. Very unhappy.

The game could be real fun, but the matchmaking is the worst I have ever seen and it completely ruins the game. After a week of play, I can't do half of my dailies, because they require wins, which is impossible with my beginner decks against those super buffed, high level decks which I'm thrown at. If they fix the matchmaking, I will give it 5 stars.

Good Fun, I enjoy the simplicity of play and that I don't have to play every day.

So I know I don't have a lot of time on this game but even as someone new to this game it has become abundantly clear to me that this game has a horrendous issue with balance. Cards are either laughably worthless or monstrously overpowered, and to top that off there is no rhyme or reason to the "rarity" of cards. I showed the game to a friend who regularly plays deck building games and they simply looked me in the eyes and earnestly asked me why I was wasting any time on this game.

Liking it more than I thought I would. Regular updates and balance patches, and time needed to open packs means you're forced to put down the game for 3-8 hours if you've finished up your quests and there isn't a campaign on. UI isn't the best, you can't pre-build decks, nor is there any way to view all the cards available from what I can tell. But overall, I'd recommend it for Warhammer 40k fans that also like card games.

The game has been enjoyable, but the introduction of some new boss cards has began the inevitable p2w process. Progress has been stopped for the longer term players who are not prepared to dip into their pockets. It's a shame....

The matchmaking in ranked mode is really bad, you come up against so many pay to win players that you don't stand a chance of beating, it's awful and needs to be addressed.

Ranked matches are impossible because win points very often vanish after a battle and do not add to your total. 1 step forward, 3 steps back. Terrible match making, very often being paired against someone 10/20 levels higher. Pay to win as others have said. Not much fun to be had here unless they improve things. Now just waiting for the standard bs copy/paste dev response.

Very fun addictive game but crashes way to much. (Edit) This is after a year or so of playing my mind has changed a little it is still a fun game however when i had to update the game and create space on my phone my original account was lost. It isnt hard to level but it is unfortante the game crashes to much and couldnt store my data.

Had to reset my phone. Despite being connected through Googleplay I can't retrieve my account without ticketing them. When you do this you're expected to give ridiculous details and "proof of receipts" among other things. Pretty ridiculous state of affairs all round. I've given up at this point.

The game is great, though I guess itd be nice if the matchmaking had some kind of algorythm other than "whoever is available" as Ive so far had to deal with persons who had far more powerful upgraded decks, or far more numerous cards when Im only alloted 3 cards. . .

Honestly it is very fun. Could be a bit more user friendly. Example would be able to organize by points, buffs, nerfs. But it doesn't take away from the fun! Good job guys!

Really enjoyed the startup of this game if a bit grindy. PvP options right now are limited and need polish as it's difficult to get matches unless you have friends you actually play with. Also there's no way for you to set limits on PvP marches leading to players likely being mismatched in card values and it being hopeless for one party to do much.
