Everything was there for a great game. Graphics are great, circuits selection is good. But then everything falls apart when you start playing. The controls are bad. I mean you can play it, but you never feel like you can control the kart as you want. I don't really care for the pay 2 win mechanics, but the points needed for 5 stars in the last circuits just can't be reached if you don't have the right setup. It's just designed to make you spend money, I would have pay for a complete MK game...

This game is a great way to satisfy your MarioKart fix on the go! However, the lack of a good explanation of the point system, the lack of an offline mode, and the gold pass being largely necessary to have a fighting shot in the higher eschelons of the ranked cups are keeping me from giving it a 5th star.

Edit: almost a year later and still not fixed.... Original: Your latest update has made the game unplayable on my Pixel 5 with smooth display on. The game is so choppy it's not worth playing. The only "fix" is to manually turn off smooth display. Please fix.

I like graphics, gameplay and variety. But really this game has so much monetization going on inside. It doesn't feel healthy to play. Apart from the Gold Pass, everything else seems too pricey for what it gives you. Gambling with bad odds. As a beginner, best advice I got was to save my rubies (most valuable resource) and not pull new characters as 'they are bad this tour'. And of course I pulled in the end, I got in for fun, not to restrain myself right from the start. But I kinda regret it.

The game has got a lot better from when it was released, the controls are decent, the gameplay is good and enjoyable. The only bad things about this game is that no tracks from Mario kart 8 have come back, antigravity hasn't come back, and professor E-gad has not been playable, even though characters like Nabbit and King bomb-omb have come back. Also, most of the city tracks in the game, (with a few exceptions)are boring and bad apart from that the game is pretty good.????

Everyone says that this game is pay to win. Yes, paying can make progression faster, but with even the tiniest bit of planning and game knowlage, you will never need to think of spending a penny. Another problem is that it doesn't feel like mario kart. Solution: play online. The third problem is the controlls. Even I, an avid tour enjoyed, must admit that they are bad, but lines only really matter online, so this isn't a problem to me. In app purchases are way overpriced, though.

It is a good game, controls and graphics wise, but it is very grindy and slow progressing. If you like gacha games/grinding like I do, the game is really fun, but otherwise the game is going to be very disappointing.

At first, I was underwhelmed despite not having to play a Mario Kart game for a long time. However, I always have been curious of how this game would play since you would usually hold down a button to drive. Once I understood the surprisingly simple controls and did a few gameplays, I don't find the game to be that boring after all! Though, the fact that the characters automatically perform tricks on ramps kind of takes away the skill.

The "take a photo" mini game is not a game, and probably just an excuse to get permission to access your storage. Tap tap tap tap tap. Wowza there are a LOT of blinking menus and "awards" to click through before you can play a game. The controls are good for a mobile game, but you can't fall off the map and there are no gas and brakes - just turning/ drifting. It's Mario Kart and it's free, but it's not even close to as good as the full console version. Fun with friends. 6.9/10

Great game. Love being able to play Mario Kart on my phone. Just a couple of things I notice that could be improved on though. One feature that I really like is controlling the camera after finishing a race. As well as the picture missions. I think I'd be great if the picture mission filters and controls were present after each race so you can take pictures whenever. My other gripe is no support for external controllers. Oh and being able to pause while playing offline. Great game!

This has been a great experience. I would say that trying to obtain everything in the game almost impossible unless you have time, patience, and money. It's one of those pay to win games but boy.... it's asking too much out of your wallet. Besides that tiny detail, it is a great game. I love the characters, the items, various courses, and the atmosphere. May not be that great when you are first playing the game but after awhile it gets a little more comfortable. I definitely recommend it anyway.

I had Mario Kart on my 3DS a while ago, but that said 3DS broke. This is a very good replacement. But despite the gameplay, online multiplayer, and the gacha mechanic, the "drift" button could be a bit bigger. Maybe make a setting that can increase/decrease the size of it? That's my only complaint. Besides that, this is a great game. Absolutely love it.

I absolutely love this game and I've been playing it on and off for a few years but it is quickly being ruined by the multiplayer aspect. Over the past few months I have noticed other players and/or items jumping/glitching/spawning ahead of me causing me to crash or fall back in the race. It's incredibly frustrating. The rest of the game is amazing. There are lots of people complaining that you have to pay to win - there are in-app purchases they help, but you do NOT need these to progress.

I don't know what it is, maybe it is the huge roster of riders, (most of them are not technically unique tho) the new takes on old maps, the quick races, or the item system, but I absolutely adore this game. There is always something to do, something to work towards, and fun to be had. And every race has a possibility of an upset. Love this game, wish I had tried it out sooner.

After the most recent update, the game is next to unplayable. It'll open, I pick a race, driver, cart, speed, but just before the race starts it crashes. The store still works, so that's cool, but I've deleted and re-download the app near a dozen times, I've restarted my phone, I've checked common bugs and nothing's worked. Since updating I've only been able to run a handful of races. I check back multiple times a day and it'll always crash. I once tried 8 times in a row and it crashed everytime

Beautiful graphics!! I love the idea of bringing Mario Kart to go everywhere. The music the nostalgia and everything In between. But the game does have alot of faults, online can be better, the items you get from ticket item box gives you bananas and coins (how em I supposed to win if all I can get is a banana), the bots or cpu you race can somehow be faster when they drift, LITERALLY they zoom pass you and aren't all cars supposed to be the same speed? The pipe items are always the same, LAME.

I started playing at launch and uninstalled a while after for a number of reasons. I decided to come back, and glad I did. Glad to see you guys adding classic levels, and making a ton of progress on things that drove me and I'm sure other players crazy. So far, I'm loving the updated game. Good work guys. I hope you continue to add more classic and new levels. Edit: One thing you guys should consider is during token tournaments, refreshing the token shop after the first leg.

I really like the cup tournaments, but after you finish passing them the game gets boring. Multiplayer is unusable since it keeps crashing and error codes appear, that rarely happens in cup tournaments. Also it's mentioned in other reviews that there's something going on in multiplayer which makes the gameplay extremely difficult compared to cups to the point that it's unenjoyable for the player along with the game crashes in multiplayer.

I really love this game, but there is a main issue. Why is it 4.99 per month for the gold pass? Thats more than Nintendo Switch online! I would buy the gold pass if it was $10 one time. This game does almost everything else right. Also, for everyone saying it won't come, multiplayer is coming soon. Controls take a while to learn but aren't bad. Also, there is no fuel bar (cough asphalt 9 and almost every other mobile racer).

This game is fine, could be better though, a lot of small bonuses are locked behind the Gold Pass but that's fine, I'd probably buy it if it were like NSO, which is $20 yearly. The controls are not the best, but you can customize how you want some stuff to play out, then you'll get used to it. Let's face it though, the point requirements for five stars are way too hard, haha. Try this game if you want, it's not the best but it's a nice timekiller, you get tons of rewards for random stuff.

Just came back to this game after about a year. There have been lots of great updates, my favorite of which is the ability to finally play in landscape mode. One major issue, though. I can no longer do sharp turns. Every single time I drift, I can't seem to turn more than 45° and end up crashing into walls. I did a quick search online and discovered that this can be fixed my turning off the 90hz display on my phone. I shouldn't have to change such a major setting every time I want to play.

I really like this game. Old and new tracks and carts in polished HD on your phone. Quick and easy fun for when you're bored. Multiplayer, challenges, and ranked cups keep things fun, competitive and interesting. The game has vastly improved on a lot of things over the 2.5 Years. You DON'T need to spend a lot of money on Rubies for pipes. Often, you'll get rubies and pipes for playing well. The Gold Pass is cheap enough to justify $6.99 per month. It gets you decent rewards.

The game overall is great with superb graphics and game play. But instead of becoming more fun and interesting the more you play and the more you pay, the less interesting it becomes. Instead of letting advanced players utilize more tricks, more and more I get only mushrooms or a couple bananas. I rarely get benefits during the games that match the time and money I've put into it. Sure I expect a good challenge, but not by stripping away features that I've earned and paid for!!!

Game is cool. Wish it wouldn't kick me out multi-player after every time my phone blacks out. The screen turns off then it kicks me out games and take my points. More than a few times my points have been taking. When I add back to the game I wait and then I come back with zero points even if I was coming in first.. That's my only problem. Love the game...

It's a great gacha racing game, but it has some problems. First the multiplayer may need to have some sort of system imo. Second and lastly, the gold membership does not feel worth it. There should be more than just getting 1/4 extra items in the tour gifts, a different multiplayer mode, and an extra set of challenges. Overall great game, highly recommended.

When you first get in with challenges, it's great. Crash an opponent x times? Gems! Get first place y times? Gems! First impression? Not bad. Then you run out of challenges. Even with gold pass subscription, it gets rough. At higher ranks it basically comes down to "whoever has the most multipliers wins." At that point it's "pay to win" Usually some tracks for ranks require the brand new racer/cart/parachute. They did adjust the new player gap with better pipes for old items, at least.

It's fun. You can get caught up in the stress of making sure you collect enough stars and what not. Specifically if you pay for the Gold because you don't want to "waste" your money z at least that's how I feel. I figured after it being around so long they would either drop the monthly price or drop the price of everything in game with the game tokens and coins.

I gotta say, this is a very awesome game. While the controls at first are a bit hard, you start to kinda get used to them. One problem with this app is that it has distorted audio sometimes, but thats fine. This game has become one ofmmy favorite Nintendo games, mostly because you can race as your own Mii, which I find to be so friggin' cool. It's easily organized, the racing AI is really good, it's easy to rack up points, and theres tons of different type of items that you can get. Great game.

I love Mario Kart Tour, But... I am having issues with being able to play right now. They just updated it. It keeps loading and acting like I'll be able to race finally after it loads to a point. It brings up Bowser and Princess Peach when it loads then a black screen comes up saying error error. I've already reported this, but it is a fun racing game otherwise I sent have really any complaints.

If you're looking for a portable Mario Kart experience, I recommend Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It's a decent conversion of Mario Kart's controls to a mobile control scheme. A lot of elements are automatic, such as tricks and holding items behind your kart, which takes away some of the skill involved. It also feels somewhat slow, even at higher CC's. Like most mobile games, it's a checklist, not a game. You keep grinding to get all the things rather than having fun. For real fun, get the Switch game.

I love Nintendo and their IP's, and Mario Kart is no different. I love the racing aspect and the items are fun and enjoyable. The only thing I don't really like is the controls. The controls are fine, they do the job, but they don't feel very good compared to any console Mario kart. Please improve the controls responsiveness and drifting abilities. Then and only then will I be inclined to lift this to 5 stars. Thank you :)

I used to love this game but it is full of cheaters online how can I hit you with my super 7 frenzy and you don't stop for a second? Also needing a new set of characters for every tour is exhausting. I have the subscription I imagine the game would be impossible without. The tubes are also disappointing rubies aren't easy to get per se and to do a pull with nothing at all makes you never want to play again.

I used to look forward to booting up Mario Kart Tour every morning and racing as some of my favorite Mario characters on the tracks I love from the older Mario Kart games, and the new city and remixed tracks they added for this app. I'm sad to say that I'm no longer excited to play this game. I blame the unfairly difficult AI opponents and competitive nature of the game that pits you against the scores of human opponents every week in Ranked Cups. Frustrating game, that's not fun anymore.

I like it as the game it is. However, it has many bugs. Many problems. Very often the game crashes and refuses to open in the last day of each ranked cup, plus crashing in the middle of a race when I have less than 15% battery (which, for my phone, is more than enough for 7 races). Being hit when I have items to protect me, not being able to hit other drivers without protection.. MANY bugs!

I didn't like it at first, but given what's possible and reasonable to expect on the platform, it's pretty good. The general loop of getting high scores so you can unlock more drivers and karts so you can get higher scores and so on it very satisfying. Available courses and drops change every once in a while so you always have something to look forward to. No ads, it's not too pushy with the membership, and you can still enjoy the game without one. But still, the controls are not great.

I think this is a pretty solid version of Mario kart for a phone. I'd recommend turning off all steering and driving assistance to get a full mario kart experience. I'd rate this 5 stars but unfortunately you cannot use a blue tooth controller on this. If they added support for a bluetooth controller or allowed an on-screen controller (other than the little circle at the bottom you can use as a joy stick) I'd rate this a 5.

This game is amusing, it is very much like the original Mario Kart games. However it has many new additions to keep gamers amused. Some of these additions are nice and others are irritating and can become expensive in the long run. One addition that is exceptionally irritating and appears to be rigged or easily hacked is multi-player mode. When playing this mode opponents seem to be faster than you, warp around the track, and do not take damage when hit.

The updates to the game lately have been really good and have taken away some of the repetition issues. The only other main issue I have is the pipes. They cost 45 gems were are kind of difficult to get. The pipe also gives me all normal items. not a single gold item or a single one from the spotlight. why would I waste time to collect gems for the pipe to only get normal items you can get from the store everyday?

Great game. With a little patience you can earn upgrades without spending a dime. Controls are spectac for a phone version. Anyone complaining isn't taking the time to figure the game out. Oh and the course selection is pretty impressive, I love how different past Mario Kart courses get their chance to shine every season. One issue playing live, some players have codes in place so that your weapons don't effect them. No fun when you're not breaking rules yourself, much harder to win then.

The idea of playing Mario kart on your phone is something that we all wanted for a few years and we partially got that. The graphics are decent, if not a bit flat, but still better than MK7. The controls are stiff and dragging your finger across the screen isn't really the best experience. The forced in-app purchases and subpar gameplay made me lose interest in the game overtime, and with the new MK8 Booster Course Pass DLC on Switch, I have little to no incentive to play this game anymore.
