Starting to enjoy playing again since the anniversary event is over. It was too much visually. They've added more rewards which makes it more enjoyable for non paying players. I just wish we could change the email registered with the account. My account was given to me 2 years ago. I'd like to have it registered to my personal email. So choose your main email carefully.

This is an ok game, but very much still pay-to-win. It's possible to advance your castle and army upgrades to where you're competitive to others, but it will take a huge amount of time. A lot of resources and upgrades are very expensive to purchase with real money. The game play is average, it's only in portrait and not landscape mode so that's somewhat annoying. Some players have spent tens of thousands of dollars in this game, so there's no need for the devs to do anything different

Mixed feelings. The game is very interesting, but I got issues with the credibility of the developer. Some tasks and prob of occurrence (stats) don't match my personal experience over time. PS: now, six months later, problems persist. The reason for this downgrade to 2 *s is the total lack of support at the automatic support line suggested by the developer here. Any problem you may have, be sure that the machine will answer invariably "please send us a screen shot" .... hilarious.

This game is becoming more and more money hungry. It is biased toward players who spend thousands of dollars. Early on, you can sort of keep up if you're playing all the in time, but as the game goes on, more players just buy their way to the top. Also, this anniversary decor is terrible. Too busy, too bright. It hurts the eyes after just a few minutes. I'm also getting very tired of having sales ads for new game heroes or boosts thrown in my face every time I log in.

Well it is an enjoyable game, but not very realistic in its battle sequences. When an upper level opponent attacks a lower level one the casualty rate on both sides is totally unrealistic. Furthermore, it should be made possible for opponents to intercept attacking troops in open field. The fact that one has to pay tp spèed things up is annoying.

It was fun both times I downloaded it. However, I had to download the second time because the game froze. When I got out and logged back in, the game is still froze. Guess what? The same thing happened the second time I downloaded it. When most games freeze I usually get out and log back in and I can continue playing. There might be a loss of some progress but I could still play on. Not this app.

It's OK! I enjoy the building of the game but it is timed so one has to wait.... I wish there would be more strategy involved...there is a lot to learn... 15 and 30 seconds commercials are too long to wait, I would be fine with 5 seconds.... Update: advertisements are now all 30 seconds, that's way too long and should be reduced to what they were, which was 3 seconds long!

.. unfortunately the app seems to have a lot of problems and won't run for long before shutting down, mostly it won't even startup without either freezing or shutting down. game is fun however and there are enough different things to do there to keep you entertained as you build and ... technical problems might actually be the device the game is running on, or the operating system or even the service provider as a number of other apps do the exact same ... would be 5 / 5

It's fun, initially. Progress becomes very slow up almost impossible. When you do rapid production it'll say you have a 85% chance of succeeding but most of the time it fails, which doesn't line up with the 85% chance. Money hardly grows and suddenly disappears at times. Directions aren't always clear. I played it for maybe 3 weeks before I deleted it.

This is a pay to win game. There are a hand full of players who have spent real money to dominate. Mid level players have admitted to spending at least $100. The very top players are closing in on a $1,000 or more. If I could have seen the amount they spent from the start. I would have just left. Suggestions -The game should give you a PEACE SHIELD WHILE YOU'RE OFF LINE! -It should have a micro transaction free version where you just buy the game.

I cant play this at all. It looks exactly like the old age of empires and i liked the idea of being online with other players but the whole everything is locked,like areas and things, just takes all the fun out of it. You should add a solo play world for a fee. Say 49.99 and give it mutiplayer matchmaking abilities like the old games. I get this is 2022 and im sure kids like this new setup but the old way was much better where you match and see who can build faster and conquer the other.

Changed my review to 2 stars after I opened the game and found the interface has been updated - for the worse. The menu buttons have been enlarged to the point that they overlap and reduce the view of your city. Plus, it looks like a unicorn has vomitted on my screen with all the bright colored balloons, streamers and flowers. The changes were needless, does not improve the play of the game, and are annoying.

Zero stars if possible. Game failed to launch 4 times. Will try deleting and re-download. Well dam shame it doesn't work on my device. I used to love playing the computer version of this game. Deleting until it comes out of beta mode. ****Update, figured out I didn't have enough free memory for the game to launch. Plays ok now. So far a little different than original comp version.

I installed this game thinking it was almost the same as Age of Empires, but is not. Besides what it has, I was expecting to build war ships, fish farms, conquer islands to establish a military base but it doesn't have that. I have to be honest, this game deserves a 5 star but I lower it due to the lack of those options which are part of the promo video but is not incorporated in the game. Adding this will make this game more versatile, interesting and much more.

As someone who has been playing for over 2 years and invested way too much money already: the game is definitively heading farther and farther into pay to win. They release more cosmetics that are only unlockable after spending a thousand or more. No actual true luck involved even though that is the way its advertised. Up until season 2 or 3 you can do moderately well as a free to play if you invest a ton of time vs money. But after that it's a steep climb you will never come close to the top.

I wanted a mobile RTS, I got a microtransaction simulator. A Real Time Strategy game is about making quick decisions to advance faster than an opponent. For example, when you upgrade your base to the next tier, you aren't waiting there for your base to finish, you are making many other decisions while that time passes. In this game, Rise of Empires, there are a lot more upgrades and types of buildings to create than you would typically find in an RTS. There is also in-game currency that you can spend to decrease upgrade time. With these features, this game is less of an RTS and more like a mobile farming simulator.

All pictures show here are NOT from the actual gameplay. You get a static castle map and a map of where your castle is in a state. There is no water. No fishing. No battles where you control troops directly on a territory layout. Its all designed to make you pay for growth. Its the worst pay to win game I've ever seen. Don't go near this one!

I enjoy the game myself for awhile now, but the pictures they use to lure you into the app have nothing to do with the game at all. Like only 1 of the pictures is from the game and the rest are AOE type shots. It's fun to play without having to make purchases tho you can tell they want you to buy stuff alot. Even when they make events, the only way to have the fun benefits is to pay. It's a good time killer if you like this sort of genre

Seems fine so far and I'll probably add another star later. But having an incredibly annoying, unnecessary and handholdy tutorial I can't skip is a big strike though. And oh goodness if there wasn't a giant hand pointing to the task I would be so lost. I have never even heard of video games before this tutorial is so helpful.

Re-rating the game from 5 to 1... It's becoming more imbalance, pay to win than teamwork gameplay. Sorry Roe new heroes you need to get is becoming more impossible to get without spending. I've been playing for almost 4 years already but the amount of advertising too much promos and new package to buy is becoming more ridiculous that it almost cover the screen already. Players are getting discouraged and quitting. Good job roe ????

I've only been playing this game for a few weeks, but it is quite engaging, although some of the protocols can be a little confusing. It is a shame that so many of the methods of progress actually cost real money to faciltate advancement without undue or unnecessary delays, but other than that, it has been a good experience (so far lol) for a 1st timer like me.

I left clash of kings as it hogged more space than my elderly tablet possessed . Rise of empires is very similar, but looks better and doesn't take up so much memory. That said, it costs more if you want to buy developments, and you can't get past a certain level without paying. It also seems to be taking up more memory now that I've played a while.

I've been playing this game for just over a year I think. It can take time to get up to a good standard and learn the ways of the game. I dont p2w, some do and ultimately that's their choice and yes you'll never be able to compete with them. I see some reviews complaining it takes a lot of Rss to upgrade, but once your get to a good lvl those issues become less and your power up a lot more. There's also lots of hints/tips on YouTube if you feel unsure on something or want more tips

There is a bug in the switch account function that will not let the google play accounts list come up. It sometimes causes me to get stuck in my second account and the only way I have found to resolve it is uninstalling. If the game is reinstalled it forces the person to start at the beginning in story mode and this is very frustrating.

It's been over 3 weeks since I sent a problem to rise of empires service department and I still haven't heard anything back. I have spent alot of time and money on this game just to be ignored. I used 2k gems to teleport from an enemy state back to mine. The game took my 2k gems and my castle never moved. So I was stuck in enemy territory because of a bug right after a game update. So becareful if you have a problem while playing this game you're screwed.

Have been playing for 2 years, quitting the game. Pure pay to win but worse. Devs give cheap packages to certain countries. When all province competition starts, you get destroyed by these cheap package countries. There is no way to compete unless you spend thousands of $ to try to keep up. The main purpose of the game, to battle in a multi guild map is pointless as these power countries destroy anyone in their path. They have played the game for a much shorter time but are twice as powerful.

Bugs in this game constantly, half the time the red notification circle dosnt clear and it annoys me it stays for no reason, the leigions are buggy when sent to do things like the timelines are wrong or it dosnt update troop count when using my slider to refil troops. They bug when entering castle get stuck in limbo, some items take ages to open and i miss chests due to the hourly change, and ive spent alot on game and feel the bugs are ruining my experience. Over 2 weeks and not got better.

Changed my review from 5 stars to 1 because new interface is awful. One of the best features of this game was "realistic" design. Could you please provide an option to not to change an interface and keep default design? Although I am not sure I will continue to play.

I have played this game since it went live in 2018. I have liked it, although it's discouraging to see newer players max out all of their stats by paying and then seige my castle when I'm late on putting up my peace shield ???? I have paid for a few things that are otherwise unattainable like an extra workers hut or slot. The developers should reconsider allowing players to upgrade everything to the max by paying. It makes the game less fun for players like me.

Pretty cool game so far. Update: The game is very interesting, but it will eat up your time. I don't want to HAVE to stay engaged all day everyday. It started getting stressful, because I have a job that demands my attention during the day, and a family to spend time with in the evening. I was constantly scouted and attacked on down time.It turned from fun to stressful real quick. Cool game... as long as you don't have a life.

5+ minutes and it doesn't move on from the black login screen. UPDATE: Devs replied saying to give it another try using WiFi instead of mobile data (which I was using the first time). I gave it a second try and, after some 10 minutes, it loaded a background, then a menu, which froze. At that point it had been 15 minutes and I closed it... BUT IT WOULDN'T CLOSE! This is the only app that has completely frozen my phone. I uninstalled it.

Awfully, excessively, extraordinarily pay to win. If you are not prepared to spend a couple grand, save your time and play something else. Yes, you can do Free to Play...but you will never make top 10 percent. Cosmetics can give boosts, but will cost you on average 200 usd. The game is well put together, and fun...but expensive. I still play, I know firsthand. The greed is real.

This game could be so much better. It offers excellent rewards, if you pay, basic no pay rewards aren't really helpful. Gold for mini battle isn't very helpful, you can advance fast at the start, but I still couldn't find where alliances we're, even after building the alliance hall. The potential is there, the ads as many these days are false advertising and this game does not resemble Age of Empires at all except for some minor appearance. Quite a pity really.

I like the game. I am learning it well. I advanced pretty well. Peace shields are so expensive that it is pointless to continue playing. If I can't protect my resources then I see no reason to continue playing the game. Why build them when they will be taken? The game developers failed here. They need to do better. Shields should be inexpensive and easy to acquire. Failing to shield should be the players mistake not a result of the games failures to provide what is needed reasonably.

For a long time this game was fantastic. Then, right at about the 1 year anniversary it changed to complete pay to win. Now there are people spending hundreds and even thousands of dollars PER MONTH to play because the developers keep changing the game. MANY, MANY long time players are now leaving the game because of the sudden switch. Save your time and money. Go find a different game to play. I've been here close to a year so take these words to heart.

I've played this game more than 2 years. You can spend hours everyday trying to improve your castle. If you willing to spend money, you can get many benefits from events. Heroes and upgrades are the main factors which separate the strong and the weak. I never spend money on this game, just play for fun. Altough its hard to get the best from this game without spending some money ☺????.

Fun game very time consuming. Everyday that passes this game gets more pay to win. Used too be able to keep up without spending a lot, now all the cosmetic upgrades keep getting better buffs. They are chance based so can cost over 1k for just a castle skin. Changing my rating form 4 to 2 stars no longer recommend this game to anyone unless you are well off financially and nothing better too do with your money.

Very reduce the number of 'are you sure?' boxes please. When I click to switch account, I need to say yes three times before anything happens. 4 clicks instead of 1. Ridiculous. Same as when you pay gems to level things up, everyday you need to click yes to 'are you sure?' it's overkill and inefficient. Latest update is resource intensive.

Playing just one day so far, and enjoying it... still enjoying it. Less than two months and this game is now all about money. A money pit without a bottom. Doubt I'll be playing/paying this game much longer. I don't mind paying for a few advantages, but without paying, I no longer can advance. Too bad, it was fun until recently. It's a money pit! Game deleted!

Since im newbie here, it is easy to level up there's a lot of helpful free stuffs that you can get by completing the task's. In this game you can do a lot of things than other clash games, this is the best game for me so far. Its neither play to win but fair enough to purchase some to support devs. Things will get harder when you level up, it will be more strategy but fun. And i really like the storyline their voices, characters, scenes its so creative. 10/10
