Quite good game. Too many bugs. On the way to my highest score and letters suddenly went huge and I couldn't place them. Whole game then froze. Second day in a row that it went wrong . Happens too frequently. Going to uninstall. Too annoying. Some annoying features. Just when you are dragging letters to the board these annoying clouds drift across the board causing the letters to go in the wrong place. Very irritating. Also I can't see any explanation of how words are scored.

I've only played for a few days and I already love it. No annoying ads telling you to download other games, no popups in the middle of playing, no micro transactions, just a good, fun wordplay game. I've seen someone complaining about the $10 price for unlimited plays, and at the time I thought it was a subscription for $10 a month, but a one-time payment of $10 for unlimited games? More than worth it in my opinion. Bought it after 1 day of playing the free games.

The game itself, great! Cute, fun, engaging. But I can't give 5 stars.. I've been SO excited waiting for this game to release only to be hugely disappointed at the cap of one free game daily. It was barely enough to get a feel for the game. And not everyone can justify spending $5 or more just for "infinite play". I wouldnt mind a limit on how many free games daily if there were more, like 3-5. Especially with 3 different games modes.. you can only choose one a day. Very disappointing

Amazing game, I don't like to pay for mobile apps, but if I did, I'd get the full version. But 1 game a day is enough sometimes, despite how limiting it is. The game is just fun, it's made to make everything feel satisfying, and mistakes can be undone. Despite having to pay for some Gubbins, or play to unlock many, the game doesn't feel unfair at the start. Just try it, it's free, and you get a free game after the tutorial.

The game is amazing, I love the concept and it's really fun. However, sometimes I'll put a word down and it will recognise a form of the word but not another form. For example, "reselect" is recognised but "reselects" is not recognised. Apart from that, I love this game and the daily games have become part of my daily routine.

I really love this game but it's frustrating you're limited 1 play every 12 hours. It's hard to begin to enjoy the game when you only get a single play. In order to continue to play, you have to pay 5 USD. I understand needing funding to continue the development of this game but why not occasional ads? It is really well animated. Nice sounds. Cute art. Satisfying taptic feedback.

Very good game! I'm a sucker for a good word game, and this one got me. Warning: it is only one free game per day unless you upgrade for about 6 dollars. Biggest complaint is the dictionary. Words like "pixelate" or "riced" don't count and when you see this happen multiple times per game, it gets very frustrating very quickly. There is also no way to check if a word will work before you place the letters, and by that point, you're screwed. Makes it feel more luck-based than strategic.

There's really good bones here, and I'm hoping this game becomes great. Right now the dictionary is super limited, missing a lot of complex words -- which means when you set up a killer board wide combo, there's a pretty good shot it's not in the game's dictionary, taking all the joy out of the moment. The mechanics are interesting, but without letting the player get that nice scrabble/countdown "I can't believe I know this word that will fit" moment, what's the point?

Fantastic word game. It takes a few plays through to learn how to work the different modes and mechanics, but it's a lot of fun once you do. The limited play per day stinks, but 10% of revenues are donated to charity so i was happy to pay a little bit to unlock unlimited play. It's a quality game and it doesn't have awful ads, to boot. One issue- i turned off analytics accidentally and now i can't toggle it back on. I'm not even sure what that does. Perhaps dev can help?

While the game is free, I immediately knew I was going to give it money. And boy was it worth it. I've been wanting an actually good word game, and gosh dang it, Gubbins is it! A wonderful style, a very unique challenge system with all 25 gubbins adding good or bad effects to your game, and with infinite play, I can see a very plausible addiction. This game oozes love and style, and I was able to spell Kerfuffle and get so many points, just trust me, this game is awesome!

Im here because Hank sent me to check it out. Great game. A fun and quirky word game that is a bit different then most. Someone called it chaotic Scrabble, which I think sums it up. I paid for the infinite game mode. I'll skip a coffee and muffin this week (seriously it's not that much, no ads, and extra background and stickers and such, I went with the least expensive as I really only wanted infinite play. I think it was $8 Canadian. I wasn't really paying much attention, it was under $10)

Having a great time. Some words just not in the dictionary ("undusted" or "calcites" have been the most annoying so far...!) But otherwise loving the art style. Most expensive app purchase I have ever made in my life. A lot of full board games don't cost this much, but I see it a little bit as charity, and supporting indie, so I mind less. Those bad gubbins. Boy they really boil my wee! ?

a very fun little word game! I paid for the infinite play (which I feel is very justified, it feels similar to nyt charging for more access on their app, and I would MUCH rather have limited access that a stupid number of ads) (the devs gotta make their dollar too, yall) anyways. the only reason I'm giving 4 stars is a few bugs. the postcard stickers will sometimes glitch. also it can be very difficult to rotate the larger letter units, if they didn't place automatically that would be GREAT??

Its fun, and definitely gets you thinking. Although the extremely limited number of free games a day is very annoying. Also the explanations of different game aspects at the beginning are very brief, and do not really explain how the game works. I got the hang of it after a few games, but after I had just started to understand how it was played I couldn't play another due to the daily limit. :/

This is fun. The dictionary isn't great though, there are a lot of things it thinks are words that aren't, and words that are definitely words but that it won't accept. Also, today it told me that I'd done the game for today when I hadn't (the results card my friend sent me from the daily had a lot of Zs, which I think I would have remembered). If they improved stuff like the dictionary and bug fixes, this would be a 5/5?the concept and game mechanic itself is solid.

Really loving this game! its unique and fun, makes you think but in a relaxing way. its different from any other word game that I now. love the art style and the game runs smoothly. there are no ads as far i can tell, there is a limited how much you can play but there are different packs to purchased that you can overcome that. definitely recommend this game! p.s i purchased one of the bigger packs and its definitely worth it !

I just couldn't find the fun in this game, personally. Tiles were fiddly to place and the mechanics of how things work are poorly explained. Once I worked things out, it still didn't feel particularly enjoyable. The titular "gubbins" would appear and I found myself not caring. I could be missing something, but I bounced off this game pretty quickly.

Okay, I love it. I really do. The quotes for some words have made me smile to giggle - it's also helped broaden my spelling abilities, which honestly have always been difficult. Reason for 4 stars is because I know this game can be better - the bugs I'm dealing with are mainly the space Gubbins, namely the asteroids. I think the fix is to make sure there's a section blocked in the code for if a Gubbin that effects a wider area has "dibs" on tiles, the new Gubbins spawns away from it.

Gubbins is polished and adorable, you can tell a lot of care was put into its development. That said, the limited play paywall is a real issue. Anyone wanting to play for free gets more of a demo than an actual game, and it's a little pricey for those looking to buy it. Maybe the solution is to keep the optional payment, and show unintrusive banner ads in the corners but allow infinite play for free. That allows more people, and lowers the paywall price for those who really don't want ads.

So peaceful and good for your brain! The basic point is to just make words using the letters in your draw pile, plus what the game adds to the board. Love the music, love the atmosphere, fun art, and gameplay. It's fun to collect new animated good and bad things that can influence your name, backgrounds, and so forth. A great, calm experience to have every day.
