magic sort - water puzzle

Used to be 4 stars when it was on play pass. With the pass it was a decent vial sorting game with mechanics like sometimes the bottom colors were not visible until you got to them, or vials being blocked. Now that it's off Play Pass, it's a game I will instantly delete due to all the forced ads. If it comes back to Play Pass I will change the rating. 2 stars due to no ads being cheaper than other apps.

I've been looking for a relaxing, fun game like this everywhere - this could easily be the best water color sorting game if the pay-to-play was set up differently. A one-time purchased pass that gives you daily items, and allows you to continue to the higher levels is something I was looking for in the shop, but you're forced to pick from a limited selection of specific in-game items. It's not worth it. I would be willing to spend $30 + on a pass. It's a shame, this game is a winner.

makes you watch multiple adds in-between being able to play the game and the levels get to where you have to use the special items in order to complete them. If you run out of special items you have to pay to play

Edit: I was going to improve my rating after it finally recognized I had bought the ad-free setting, but for the past month I've been stuck on level 439, which is either bugged or extremely unclear; the frozen beakers won't unfreeze even when everything else is sorted. I enjoyed this game a lot, so much I decided to pay for the ad-free version. Unfortunately, after I cleared the cache I'm getting ads again, and when I went to pay for it again I'm told I already have it. Really disappointing!

I downloaded this game because it's on PlayPass and have really enjoyed it! It's been great to try the different kinds of challenges and ways to earn boosters. There was the occasional glitch when I didn't open the same for several hours or had to step away in the middle of a puzzle, resulting in lost progress toward undo's at the beginning of each puzzle and toward bigger extra bottles. Unfortunately, since they've pulled from PlayPass, I won't be able to play much anymore. ?

Update June 22nd, 2025: Encountered level after level of hidden colors that make it making it near impossible to win on the first try without sheer luck. The store went from waiting for rewards to buying them with irl currency. Redoing a level after failure costs 900 gold, you get 10-20 per level completion and it costs 2 bucks for 1000 gold. Too predatory. Original review: Decent time waster but there are levels that hide the colors, making it less a logic puzzle and more a lucky guess.

Was a 5-star before today. I grabbed it specifically because it was on Play Pass, so no ads. It plays well, levels are challenging with an easy one here and there, cute, and fun. I've been playing it all the time. Unfortunately with the removal from Play Pass (and subsequent addition of ads), I'll be moving on.

reached level 97, won't start, and keeps freezing and crashing

Grabbed this on Play Pass and it was really enjoyable. Now, it plays an ad after EVERY. SINGLE. LEVEL. It is torture to play. Removing.

intentionally designing levels to be unbeatable without using a power up is incompetent game design. don't have any power ups? you have no choice but to spend real money. it's especially scummy when paired with a lives system and how this game doesn't even give you a chance to use a power up to get out of a failstate, instead automatically forces you to spend in-game currency to continue or start over.
